Bougainville Parliamentary Services announces dates for key events after elections
Parliamentary Service has revised the dates for all parliamentary events as a result of the Office of the Bougainville Electoral Commissioner’s announcement of Monday 6th October 2025 as the new date for the return of writs.
Following the change to the date of the return of the writs, the revised dates for the main events are as follows:
- Swearing-in of Caretaker Bougainville Executive Council – Monday 6th October 2025 (immediately after the return of writs)
- Members Dedication Mass/Service – Thursday 9th October 2025
- Swearing in of all Members of the Fifth House of Representatives – Friday 10th October 2025
- Members Induction – Monday 13th to Friday 17th October 2025
- Parliament Meeting – Tuesday 28th October to Thursday 30th October 2025
- Ombudsman Commission Workshop – Thursday 30th to Friday 31st October 2025
- Committee Chairs and Deputy Chairs Induction – Monday 3rd to Wednesday 5th November 2025
- Members Constituency Executive officers induction – Thursday 6th November 2025
The theme for the Fifth House of Representatives Induction is: Empowering Leadership for an Independent Bougainville: Building Unity, Resilience and Sustainable Development. The Bougainville Parliament Services is committed in ensuring the successful formation of the Fifth House of Representatives.
The Parliamentary Service in collaboration with the Bougainville Public Service and all ABG agencies is putting together a series of programmes as part of settling Members-elect in their parliamentary life for the next five years.
All Members-elect along with their spouses will be given the support and an opportunity to attend the inductions to learn and share their experiences, igniting ethical leadership change for a safe, unified, resilience and a prosperous independent Bougainville.
