Emergency appeal launched to support Sacred Heart Uruh Primary School in Pinapel
An urgent Emergency Appeal has been launched to address a severe food shortage affecting students at Sacred Heart Primary School in Pinapel, Nissan Island.
The appeal, initiated by the Department of Community Government's Directorate of Disaster & Emergency and the Department of Education, and supported by the Office of the National Regional Member for North Bougainville, aims to ensure that education continues uninterrupted until December.
The critical food shortage has prompted the school to request a shortening of official school hours. This appeal seeks immediate assistance from schools in the eastern link of Buka Island, communities and individuals across the region to donate essential food items such as kaukau, taro, and rice.
