South Bougainville Former Combatants By-Election to be paid in first quarter of 2024
The Office of the Bougainville Electoral Commissioner wishes to assure all service providers and temporary election workers for the 2023 South Bougainville Region former combatants by-election that all pending payments between first quarter and second quarter of 2024.
“I’ve met with the ABG Department of Finance acting Secretary this week and he had assured me that all pending allowances and payments for services rendered during the conduct of the By-election will be settled between the first and the second quarter of 2024,” said Acting Electoral Commissioner Desmond Tsianai.
The Office of the Bougainville Electoral Commissioner apologizes for the delay in settling all pending payments for the by-election and in having all these brought forward to 2024.
The Office of the Bougainville Electoral Commissioner also appeals to all service providers and election officials to remain calm during the festive season shutdown period
“Since the Secretary has given his assurance to have all pending payments settled between the first and second quarter of 2024, I would like to thank you all, especially the service providers and all temporary election workers - for your contributions towards the successful conduct and delivery of the By election and I appeal to you all to remain calm during the break,” Tsianai said.
